2 Months in Durban So Far

Hi Everyone,

After 2 months in Durban, I definitely have more of a feel for the area! If you want to live close in to Durban the Berea is a nice area and walkable. Groceries and basic shopping close as well as nice local places. As far as cities go, Durban feels relatively safe as any. But I'm still shocked by the amount of security at all homes and flats (i.e, more barbed wire than I'm accustomed to and 4 keys to get into flat from street)! But all the same I feel relatively okay walking in my specific area. From the Berea the beachfront is a few minutes drive.
Though I am surprised how run down and vacant some of the areas near the beach are! Driving through more or less industrial/vacant areas seems odd being so near to the beach, though it looks some areas are being revamped.

We recommend trying Goundens for awesome local Durban bunnychow. The broadbean 1/4 is 14R!
