Moving my family to Durban from the UK

Hi All,
My family and I are seriously considering a move to Durban as a great career opportunity has been presented to us.
We have never been to SA and are therefore concerned about the following:
Cost of living, crime, the medical and school systems.
We have a 1 year old and a 13 year old.
Would be great to hear from anyone who has done a similar move as we'd like to make the move if of course it makes sense to.
