InterNations Kenyan Cuisine
Karibu Kenya ! 🇰🇪
This month on our Global Cuisine Tour, we visit the land of white sandy beaches, two of Africa’s tallest mountains, the Big Five safari legends, and the only capital city in Africa with a national park inside it. Yes—Nairobi has traffic and lions 🦁.
We may not be there physically (Hakuna matata—no worries), but I hope these words spice up your soul as we explore Kenya’s rich, intercultural cuisine. A true melting pot shaped by trade, colonization, and vibes.
Our food is a delicious fusion of Arabic, Portuguese, Bantu, Indian, and English flavors. Each region still reps its roots—this blend even gave birth to our national language: Swahili
Right here in Leipzig, Jikoni Café (Swahili for kitchen) brings a slice of Kenya to your plate. Proof that 42 tribes can share food, jokes, and space—peacefully.
Kenyans are known for good vibes, wild patriotism, loud laughs, and yes... big foreheads 😄. We’re proud—some say you could project a movie on them. I say: premiere night, anyone?
And let’s not forget—we’re elite keyboard warriors 💻. If you ever need online backup, just add a Kenyan to your group chat. Strategic allies secured 😉.
Sunshine 🌞, rainbows 🌈, and food from the heart.
Asante and Karibu sana!
