Moving to Guadalajara as young student

Hello all! I am a first time user and was really happy to see this type of a forum as I have been researching for true information of actual american residents in Mexico. I have a minor in merchandising and design and am continuing for my BA in Operational Management through ASU online. My boyfriend lives in Guadalajara and I here in USA, however when I went to visit for the first time I absolutely fell in love with the city and those around it and I have been considering moving there for quite some time. He is obviously well established there after 26 years so one of us needs to lose all for the other. There are lots of other factors to consider as you all know, but just wondering what you think of the employment opportunities, security, housing, economy etc,. for a young collage student.
