Err... does anyone know anything about the one child policy in China and how it might apply to me and my family? I am a UK national living in China, my wife is a Chinese national and our son holds a UK passport and birth certificate. We are thinking of having a second child but my wife has become concerned now as people have informed her we may have to pay a heavy fine, as a normal city dwelling Chinese family might. I was under the impression that as long as my children and myself are registered british then the charges upheld by the Chinese government cannot apply to us. If anyone can offer detailed advice on this subject I would be most grateful. Also, does anybody know how to go about getting a birth certificate authenticated, for my son's visa renewal; and getting a British passport whilst living in China, for our second child?
