After a series of alfresco dinners through Summer of Protected content , a couple of which were relocated indoors anyway because of wet weather, now it’s time to start heading into the warmth of an indoor setting.
Ah, but not just anywhere.
40 members of the expat Food & Beverage Group Istanbul Protected content are inviting 8 IN expat foodies in going to our first free-standing venue, a private villa tucked in a quite tree-lined street that’s only 5 minutes walk from the front entrance of Kanyon Shopping Center in Levent.
As you walk into the garden leading to the restaurant, where you’d feel like you’re out in a European countryside, the setting hits how it readily lends the ambiance of the oncoming cold months.
Şans Restaurant has been Istanbul’s gourmet destination for 19 years now and one of the very few in the country that have merited both logos of Chaine de Rotisseurs and Ordre Mondial des Gourmet Degustateurs. The logos by the way conspicuously greet guests as they arrive at the gate.
For this dinner, Niso Adato, Şans’ owner-manager and one of the country’s stalwart proponent of fine dining and échanson of the national chapter of the Chaine de Rostisseurs, has come up with a WINE-PAIRED menu that can be described as Comfort Chic Food or food that’s familiar (Turkish-Mediterranean) to most people but given the haute cuisine twist, one that’s also pleasing to the eye and filling the stomach:
