Non-tourist hammam (Istanbul)
I will be visiting Istanbul in April with friends, and my female friend and I would like to go to a non-tourist, segregated (gender) preferably neighborhood hammam. It goes without saying that we want to go someplace clean and reputable. Some of the threads here about hammams are old Protected content , and I am especially interested in hearing from women members (since that's the side we'll be going to). Anything you can tell me to prepare us for the experience would be appreciated. We'd like to go to one where the services have been preserved as they used to be. We are staying in Sultanahmet, but I'm guessing any hammam near there will be very tourist oriented? Thank you!
