It's my first Christmas in Kampala and I've been abandoned by a good number of my expat friends, with them all heading back to Europe on the premise that "nothing happens in Kampala at Christmas".
I was a little alarmed, but thought they must be wrong. I'm starting to have my doubts though. So far I have met Ugandan Santa Claus once (totally wrong, young chap with the worst fake belly I've ever encountered) and heard one set of carols.
Please, restore my faith in Uganda's ability to celebrate Christmas and tell me there is something going on? Or should I just bugger off to Jinja and do some more rafting.
