90 day visa (Kuala Lumpur)

I am UK guy in KL with 90 day visa. I have heard that just before the 90 days are up, if I go to Singapore, for example, I can turn around and re enter Malaysia and get another 90 day visa, and I don't even need to spend a night in Singapore, can anyone confirm this? I am not working here and have no intention of working, I just enjoy being here. Advice appreciated. With many thanks.
