Anti-USAno Attitude? (La Paz)

I was recently told that recently (meaning in the last few years), Bolivia has developed an anti-USano attitude. The person has spent many years in Bolivia. My "guess" is that this is not the case when it comes to people from the US unless they are "selling something" but I don't know.
I live in Nicaragua and was concerned with anti-Gringo/anti-USAno positions because of the US government invervention here but what I have seen is that unless you are here to promote something US-based, people understand the difference between actions of governments and actions of individuals.
Is this the same in Bolivia or is there something more going on?
