We are an academic couple from the UK wanting to move to Lille. We have started looking for property but are not getting a clear picture for which areas are "good". Our needs are for a place in the centre or close enough by metro or by walking so we can commute to London. We also prefer areas which are quiet, not too multicultural, not suffering from social problems - but which have a close by centre with shops, cafes, parks etc: suburban with urban feel. Finally, we need an area which is attractive for student rental in case we want to take a year away.
In property search the following come up: Capinghem, Englos, Ennetieres, Fives Fâches Thumesnil Fleurs de Lille Haut de Mons Hellemmes Lomme Lille CHR Lille Belle maison Lys-Lez-Lannoy Lille Artois Jardin des plantes Marché de Wazemmes Faubourg Gambetta, Haubourdin, Hallennes, Le Madeleine Loos, Lomme, Lompret, Lambersart, Marquette, Métro Marbrerie Métro porte de Douai Métro Mons Sart Métro st Maurice Pellevoisin Mont de terre Perenchies, Premesques, Ronchin Saint André, Sequedin, Verlinghem, Vauban Wambrechies Wattingnies Villeneuve d’Ascq Quartier des Fleurs
Can anyone advise us which of them fit our desires and which to avoid? and also - Which estate agents would you recommend, or is it better just to buy using online resources? Any advice would be most welcomed?
