Expat Insurance? (Lima)

Hi - I'm having a really difficult time with this topic, so I was hoping that someone on here can help.

My husband and I have just moved here. We didn't think we would need insurance so soon, but my husband's seizures (which we haven't seen in a while) have decided to make their presence known again. We've already gone to the Emergency Room at a private clinic once, but the cost is nuts and to get an actual prescription we have to make another appointment with a Neuro doc.

I've never had to shop for insurance before (let alone in another country) because it's always been provided for me through work.

Any insurance ideas? Suggestions? Warnings?
