Best areas for families with young kids? (Lisbon)

Hello all,

We are a family of 4 that will be coming from California to live in the Lisbon area for about 4 months. We would really appreciate any recommendations on the best areas/neighborhoods to live in for families such as ours. We have 1 year old and 5 year old daughters.

Ideally we are looking for areas that are safe for young kids, have nearby parks or play areas and daycare. Even better if amenities such as a market and restaurants are within walking distance. We'd prefer a home that includes some outdoor space (terrace or backyard) but not sure how realistic that is in the city since many rentals appear to be apartments only.

I will be working in Amadora so Lisbon doesn't seem too far of a work commute, but we have no idea which neighborhood in Lisbon to choose. Cascais and Sintra have also been suggested but wonder if they're too remote from all the city has to offer and we'd prefer not to spend too much time in the car.
