Moving to the Algarve (Lisbon)

Hello everyone,

My family and I will be moving to the Algarve region within the next Protected content and I was hoping this forum could help me out. I know this is the Lisbon forum but there is no Algarve forum :)
First, since we have two young boys, can anyone tell me if the Algarve has a decent amount of young families or is it all retirees?
Also, my income will be roughly 4,000 euros per month - does anyone know how this stacks up vs. cost of living in that region? Thanks much for the help!
