Researching Expatriate Experiences (London)

Are you part of an expatriate couple?

We are looking for volunteers to take part in a research study about the experiences and coping strategies of expatriate (from abroad) couples who are now living in the United Kingdom.

This research forms part of an MSc Psychological Sciences degree at Brunel University London and involves an online video interview about your experiences of living internationally with your partner.

This study has been approved by the College of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences Research Ethics Committee and will take place between August 15th Protected content September 8th Protected content . Please note that data collection will end by 30th August Protected content .

Your participation in this research is entirely voluntary and confidential and you are free to withdraw at any time up until the 30th of August without having to give a reason.
We are sorry we can’t offer any payment or rewards!

All participants must:

- be an expatriate (ie. live outside of your native country)
- be between the ages of 25 and 50
- have been in a relationship for at least 1 year before moving internationally
- have lived in the UK for over six months, and less than three years
be proficient in English
- not be an active researcher in the fields of in relationship science or expatriation studies
- not be/ have been struggling with a serious health condition or bereavement in the 6 months preceding or following moving abroad, that might have contributed to stresses at the time of expatriation.
