Handicap International, call for volunteers (Luxembourg)

Dear all,

Acting against injustice, influencing development policies to make progress the rights of people with disability, fighting against weapons that kill or mutilate civil populations are all battles for which Handicap International (HI) keeps raising its voice. Under our campaign “ARE YOU IN?”, we are advocating against the use of explosive weapons in populated areas since 92% of their victims are civilians. In May and June, we are planning different awareness raising activities targeting the general public. These events will be organised in public squares all around the country and will spread over four weekends.

Once again, we will need the little hands, the energy and the cheerfulness of volunteers to carry out the following tasks:

•Setting the site from 06h30 to 9h Protected content for the bravest) :
-Loading of the equipment at HI’s premises
-Unloading on site
-Setting the equipment: 3 humanitarian tents + rubalise “ARE YOU IN?”+ sound system Protected content + awareness raising material (brochures & goodies)

•Animations during the event from 10h00 to 17h00:
-Petition signing
-Video/photos selfie “Are YOU IN?”
-Quiz on the problematic of the use of explosive weapons in populated areas
-Video 360° of a bombarded city in Syria
-Exhibition « bombarded populations, a history to re-build»
-Public awareness raising
-Street art on the theme “Are YOU IN?”
-Stamp pad “ARE YOU IN?”
-Microphone animation
-Making photos and videos of the event

•Clearing the site from 17h00 to 19h00 at the latest (of course, the more volunteers will help us, the earlier we will finish!)

•Coffee, tea, croissants as well as lunch will be offered by Handicap International.
