24th APRIL 2015: A GARDEN TEA FOR LITERACY (Maputo)
LIVRO ABERTO is a literacy organization working in the communities around Maputo helping children learn to read. They have recently opened a free public library in Jardim dos Professores (Acacia Cafe park), which also lends books to young and old in both English and in Portuguese:

On their behalf and as InterNations Maputo supports these initiatives, we are pleased to invite all InterNations members and any extended friends/ family/ etc., to a morning or afternoon tea at the library on April 24th.
LIVRO ABERTO will sponsor the tea; share a short presentation about LA, the library, and the community programs; and also arts and crafts vendors in the garden for your shopping pleasure!
In case you need any further information or want to know more about LIVRO ABERTO, feel free to contact Mrs Mindy Brown (Founder and Full time Volunteer) through: Protected content
Time of the event - which is free of charge: from 10am to 5pm
And if you have (any kind of) Portuguese books to give away, they highly appreciate your donation.
Thank you for sharing this info as well.
