Where do I start? Help please (Melbourne)

Hi i'm victoria
Me and my boyfriend want to move to melbourne as soon as possible but it's looking at beginning of next year. As we work different shifts at the moment we are doing back ground work separately and I am getting very confused, visas, insurance, travel, housing and work. I know we have plenty of time but I like to plan ahead.

How much do we need collectively to get over there and have time to figure things out and get to know the place before needing to find a job?

How easy is it to find hospitality and mechanical technician jobs?

Where is the best place to look at?

And any help on paper work needed and travel wud be great?
