Tax for US citizens (Nairobi)

Hello All,

Does anyone know whether the 30% tax being removed from my Kenyan employer here in Nairobi is refundable upon exit for US citizens?

Is there anyway to avoid this? Most countries I have worked in either had a much lower rate or rebated this amount as most of us will not be able to benefit for Kenyan social security and other services.
