Most picturesque beach resort to invest (Quito)

I am preparing to buy an investment property on the Ecuador coast in a gorgeous village with high likelihood of good rental income.
Preferably nothing as big as Salinas but still popular and picturesque with enough activities, restaurants and shopping to keep everyone happy.
Ideally my grown children and other family could use it when not rented out.
It is not necessarily where we need to retire but somewhere beautiful for now....until such times.:)
Anyway, if someone has good knowledge of this topic I would love your feedback.
