Bracknell (Reading)

Hi,
We will be moving to Bracknell in a few weeks with our 6 months baby and a dog. Wonder if anyone can help me with some of our concerns :

Housing
we have been looking at Zoopla and RightMove to get a feel of the rental rate and market. Just yesterday we were told the rental market moves quickly in this area we need to confirm on the house on the same day we do the viewing. Is that true ? We are looking for a 2 bedroom, is Protected content month rent unrealistic ?

Dog
It seem silly to ask but we don't have winter here and I am not too sure what are the basic winter preparation for him - during walks etc. Also is dog boarding facilities common/readily available or pet sitting is more common as we may need to board him quite frequently.
