Moving to SP (São Paulo)

My wife and I are moving to SP in July Protected content , as I have a job as a primary school teacher at an international school. We are taking the first steps to learn Brazilian Portuguese and were wondering if anybody had any general advice about moving to SP.

We both want to meet people outside my work and I was interested in playing and watching as much football as I can.
