Jurong (Singapore)

My husband has been offered a job at Chevron Refinery Jurong Island. Can anyone give me information on the area please? He will be staying either in a hotel or an apartment as part of his employment package. I am able to go over & stay with him, but any info on the area would be greatly appreciated, restaurants, activities ect to keep me busy while he is at work would be greatly appreciated.
