Bringing our dog from the US to Sydney

Hi there!

My husband and I are relocating to Sydney in August and have begun the process of bringing our dog over with us. We have been speaking with a pet relocation company and they are saying it will cost us around $9,000 USD all inclusive. This can't be right.

Can anyone please offer us some advice on how they got their dogs over, the process, and how much it cost? Ideally we'd hire a pet relocation company but not if the price is this steep.
