Exploring countryside outside of Toulouse w/ kids

I just moved to the western countryside of Toulouse (around St. Jory) from the US and have 2 small children. We have a decent sized yard, but we are looking to get out and about to keep from going stir crazy and perhaps even meet people. There is a tiny park in our town, but there are never any other children there. Where are the best places to take a 3 and 1 year old to explore - preferably outdoors?
