Import a car (Utrecht)

Dear community,

In the coming weeks I will have the opportunity to inherit my father's car. He is actually living in Spain and therefore I need information regarding the procedures needed to have the car running in the Netherlands (inspections, tests, registration,...). Any suggestion where to start or personal experience will be appreciated.
