Are zoos evil or immoral?

I read today that a lady in Britain who worked in a zoo had been mauled to death in what they believe could be by a tiger. Looks like they don't know for sure. But why do they have zoos in the first place? Moreover, they are trying to outdo each other too in concluding where or which are the top zoos of the world.

Animals belong to the wild. How would you like it if a gorilla abducts you and drags you off to its community of apes and use you as a sample specimen? They can tell you that it's for scientific reasons, education and all that even to the point of helping to conserve the species but that is all a big pile of bull.

Then you have the circus where sometimes the elephants run amok like a tank through town or the lions have had enough and maul their handlers. Then of course you have those who cage birds and make it their hobby or trade. In between, you have all those who go earn a living working for these establishments.

So you fellas here, dig deep into your hearts, intelligence and conscience and share your opinions lest your callous silence be misconstrued as agreement and advocacy of such vile transgressions upon nature or aptly put, your God's precious creations.
