Cultural Differences and How They Enrich Us and Make Us Grow

We were all born at some place somewhere in time. Call it luck, nature, fate, or divine intervention. None of us chose where it would be but that place determined us for long and for good. Inescapable place even if it is just in our hearts. We loved the city or small or big town in a country that embraced our dreams, witnessed our childhood and its games, heard our laughter or our cries or our tantrums, where we asked many questions some of which were answered while others not… or, some did not love that place for their own motives, but I think those are perhaps in the minority. That place gave us its culture, our language, the tools to teach us how to turn things around when things are not going good, and the foundations of who we are, how we are, and why. That place also gave us its prejudices and biases, prejudices and biases that more often than not blur our lens in seeing who others that were not born in the place we were are. Yet, the willingness to face those, that’s where we can say: Let’s see how this person think and feels and why.
And then, one day, we travelled for love, for the dreams of our childhood, for a family, for a weather with seasons or without them, for a job, for a safer place, or for all the other fors we human beings have to step out of our house. Then, we find ourselves in another culture with another language and meet others who had their dreams, their childhood games, their laughter, their cries, their tantrums in those. How are we different and how are we similar?
This forum thread is to talk about that and to share the personal views through our own lens, limited but not less meaningful.
