The Phoenix Lander just picked up some iced water from Mars. This is the final proof of what had been suspected for some time now...
Water is an indispensable part of life, just like carbon-based molecules. Scientists are now going to figure out if there was actually life in Mars at some point... but do we really need this? It seems obvious to think that the Universe is full of life. It makes no sense to think that the conditions of life only took place in our blue planet... are we really that special? I don't think so.
This brings me to my next question: who wants to join me in becoming the first settlers in Mars?
