Highly Sensitive People, Housing, and Disturbance

Hello all,

I'm gathering together a focused group of people who identify as Highly Sensitive People (HSPs), or Highly Perceptive People (HPPs) [or have partners, family members who are HSPs / HPPs].

The focus of the discourse is on lived experiences with quality of housing in Portugal (rented or purchased), and correlations with overall quality of life, mental health and wellbeing, and productivity.

For us HSPs / HPPs, we know that we have very specific and different needs to the general population regarding exposure to sensory stimuli, environmental aesthetics, and degree of engagement with the external world (communication, stillness, transparency etc).

The aims of this discourse are:

1. Identifying specific challenges HSPs / HPPs face with quality of housing in Portugal;
2. Spotlighting the impacts these challenges have had on their lives;
3. Creating greater awareness of these challenges and their impacts (individual, local, and global);
4. Envisioning and resourcing creative, sustainable and affordable solutions to mitigate these challenges;
5. Identifying vital support mechanisms, legal frameworks, mitigation in place or gaps in / absence of such mechanisms;
6. Formulating cogent research questions to explore potential correations with rigour;
7. Reframing society's awareness, perception, and understanding of what it means to be a HSP / HPP AND the added value this subset of people bring to their tribes and the collective;
8. And so much more.

If this resonates, drop a comment, contribution, signal your interest in joining the group.

Cheers,

Chinye
