In a perfect world , would we have politicians?

We are not necessarily being led by the best .Often our leaders are in politics to serve their own ends. Much of the vileness in the world may indeed be perpetuated because of this situation. how do we ensure that our political leaders are the best hearted , the kindest , the most rational , the most altruistic, the most genuine of people. There must be a better way than how things are now. Leaving our future and our world to this system of politics and politicians who keep on messing up cant be right . can i have your views? Thanks.
