India- ayurveda and yoga

I will be going to India for 3 months. I would like to practice with a very good hath a teacher and get some ayurveda treatment.
as in all places, the gems are always hidden and nowadays really hard to find.
I will spend 2 months in the north and then a month in Kerala.
could you recommend specific people and places?
also, tips on safety- solo woman traveller, are very much welcomed.
