Fareed Zakaria - Indian American Author and Journalist
Zakaria self-identifies as a "centrist", though he has been described variously as a political liberal, a conservative, or a moderate. He explains his position in journalism as not devoted to any type of ideology, saying “ I feel that's part of my job... which is not to pick sides but to explain what I think is happening on the ground. I can't say, 'This is my team and I'm going to root for them no matter what they do."
Originally from Mumbai, India and educated at Yale and Harvard where he earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Political Science, Fareed has an in-depth understanding of International politics like no other at this time in American journalism and gives clear and concise opinions related to political issues across the globe. If you want to hear the facts without bias, this is the man to listen to. He is brilliant, unbiased and highly informative.
He hosts a program on CNN called Fareed Zakaria GPS every Sunday at 10am and then again at 1pm central time. It is broadcasted across the world and the best political program I know of. See his complete history at the link provided. You will find this in itself interesting reading.
I will be using this thread to bring his discussions to the IN political forum. (now available on video). Each time I post his video I will introduce the related subject. After you view the video you may find something you wish to post related to the video, which in turn may spark further conversation. Or, as I often find with listening to Fareed Zakaria, nothing else needs to be said. He leaves me thinking about the world in general.
I hope you enjoy this format on the forum. Please feel free to post here as well any POLITICAL video you wish to share with an introduction on each video posted and the subject being discussed as well as the author.
