Is Zurich OK for an expat who only speaks English

I am considering joining my German partner in Zurich, but at the moment I haven't learnt to speak German. I am about to sign up for a course and learn but so far only speak English. Will I need to speak German before considering living there or will I be okay by learning to speak it after I relocate.
