Move to Croatia. Any advice?

Hello,

I'm currently living in the San Francisco, Bay Area. I visited Croatia 6 months ago and fell in love with the beauty and good living. I am thinking of making a change because I live in the most expensive city in the US. I have been told that if you are considering living somewhere you need to spend 2-3months there when it is not beautiful and sunny!

That said, I plan to go back for March and April. I’d prefer to come in Jan since that would be winter but I don’t want to leave my job before I get my bonus because that will come in handy. I think I just want to see if I can make it overall in a foreign country. I’ve been through rough winters in the US. I really just need a change and a place to reset my life.

Right now, I am concerned about a few things and would love some advice;

Housing: Average rent in split for 1bd room
For my two-month trial I will just rent, thinking Airbnb. Any things I should watch out for by doing that?
If I make it, I’d like to eventually buy but would like to know about how to avoid pitfalls. I hear there is a lot of corruption

Employment: Jobs in split area
What the best way to go about finding a job?
I hear it’s better to be in Zagreb but I after my visit I know I prefer to be on the coast. I’ve done big cities and I’m looking for something more laid back.
What are the best jobs for English speaking person? I am trying to learn the basic Croatian terms and phrases then figure I might do better once I am immersed in the day to day.

Medical Insurance: Health insurance best insurance provider
What is the best way to find an insurance provider?
What are the requirements to obtain individual insurance?

If you have advice how to overcome pitfalls on one topic, just 2 or all three, I would love to connect.
