Nice place around Lima?

Hi, thanks for all your answers concerning my trip to South America. I am now flying to Perou, and then Chile.
Can somebody recommend me a nice place/ town to stay for approx one week, not too far from Lima by bus or plane, where I can visit a bit and take spanish classes (I'll be waiting for a friend to join me in Lima)?
