Here the entire plan of the tour:

SUNDAY SEPTEMBER Protected content (apartment)
Meet at the apartment, then get settled in. In the evening, we'll pass the Walter Scott monument, have a drink at the historical Cafe Royal, and maybe take a stroll along Rose Street, Edinburgh's street of bars, cafes and clubs behind Princes Street.

MONDAY SEPTEMBER Protected content (apartment)
Full exploration of Edinburgh Princes Street & Gardens, the New Town, Grassmarket, Greyfriars, Royal Mile, see Edinburgh Castle, the Tolbooth etc.

TUESDAY SEPTEMBER Protected content (apartment)
Leave Edinburgh and head out towards the Highlands through Perth. Have a picnic lunch in the glen of Killiecrankie. The plan is to visit the Highland Folk Museum that afternoon.

WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER Protected content (apartment)
Possibly a hike in the Aviemore National Park, then in the afternoon a trip to Dufftown, Scotland’s distillery capital, for whiskey tasting.

THURSDAY SEPTEMBER Protected content (house)
Visit the Protected content site of Culloden and its museum. Arrive in and explore Inverness.

FRIDAY SEPTEMBER Protected content (house)
Visit the Alladale Wilderness Reserve with its wild wolf pack, north of Inverness.

SATURDAY SEPTEMBER Protected content (guest house)
We get the 13.30 ferry from Gills Bay to St Margaret's Hope, Orkney, via John O Groats, then explore St Magnus' Cathedral, the Italian chapel etc. In the evening, we see if we can find some traditional music.

SUNDAY SEPTEMBER Protected content (guest house)
Archaeology day: Visit Scara Brae, see Viking excavations, standing stones, and a Pictish broch.

MONDAY SEPTEMBER Protected content (hotel)
We get the 10.30 ferry back to Gills Bay, Scotland. Then drive through Thurso then on along the coast to Durness - stop to see the Faraid Head sea stacks and on to Ullapool.

TUESDAY SEPTEMBER Protected content (house)
Drive via Loch Ness, Urquhart Castle, Fort Augustus, to the Kyle of Lochalsh road bridge onto Skye. Visit Dunvegan Castle.

WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER Protected content (house)
Go on boat trip to see sea eagles and seal colonies, visit the Fairy Pools and Coolin Mountains. Search for a good bar in Portree with traditional music in the evening.

THURSDAY SEPTEMBER Protected content (apartment)
Travel via the Armadale/Mallaig ferry sailing at 09.35 to Glenfinnan, where we can see the iconic train, viaduct and Jacobite memorial. Then visit Glencoe and Ben Nevis, on the way to Oban.

FRIDAY SEPTEMBER Protected content (apartment)
09.30 start for a boat and bus trip to visit the islands of Mull and Iona.

SATURDAY SEPTEMBER Protected content (hotel)
Drive down Loch Lomond, then explore the Trossachs.

SUNDAY SEPTEMBER Protected content AIRPORT (hotel)
Drive to see Stirling Castle and the National Wallace Monument/Museum, then to Falkirk to see The Kelpies metal horse-head statues, the remains of the Antonine Wall etc. After dark, we drive to our final hotel.
