This summer SkatePAL is undertaking a new project entitled "Design, Build and Skate Protected content . The aim is to replicate the "Sharek Youth Forum SkatePAL" model in three new sites around the country where interest has been expressed in skateboard classes: The Latin Patriarch School in Zebabdeh, the New Youth Club Centre in Nabi Saleh, and the Islamic Youth Centre in Ramallah.
Using the medium of skateboarding we create a positive social environment and promote a healthy activity for children!
Over the summer of Protected content inter-disciplinary group of volunteers will design and build 3 covered timber skateparks in these locations as well as providing 8 weeks of skate classes and workshops. The SkatePAL group and its supporters will finance the construction/skate equipment costs and also provide the majority of the labour.
Upon completion, the various skateparks will be handed over to their respective youth clubs/schools. Our aim is to leave a skating legacy in Palestine which will grow, develop, and become self-sustaining.
Our target is to reach £15,000 which will allow us to complete all 3 sites. All volunteers on this project are arranging fundraising events and are working hard to raise as much as they can towards our target. We greatly appreciate all your donations! Thank you.
