Speaking of double-standards
US approves Indian nuclear deal
"...it effectively allows India to expand its nuclear power industry without requiring it to sign the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) as other nations must."
"Canada supplied the reactor and the United States provided the heavy water needed to run the reactor. India had promised to use the reactor and the heavy water for peaceful purposes only; thus it insisted on calling its bomb a peaceful nuclear device."
Will it not give a pace to the race? Would the countries like Pakistan, Israel and Iran just sit quiet and take international pressures to de-weaponize? Nuclear power sounds wonderful, but it sure doesn't without signing the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
