The "Centre Ground"

Are all political parties the same these days?

I was watching the TV debate recently. As usual, the opposition were saying that the government were doing it all wrong and the government were blaming everyone else... You know the sort of thing I am talking about. But when the chairperson actually pressed them, they all had the pretty much the same policy.

I observe this a lot. I really get the impression that who I vote for will make almost no difference to my daily life. I wasn't around forty years ago but it seems like this was not the case then.

Where have the big ideas gone? Is this progress? Is it democracy? I notice that the parties who have extreme ideas seem to do better when the country is in a mess so is this good sign? Is it the media? Have all the big ideas been tried and proven wrong?
they all have pretty much the same ideas then does it mean those ideas are right?
