The marshall plan

(Not quite sure if I should post this here)
I would really appreciate a reply on this - I bet someone is informed. It's been several years since I studied this - But as we all probably know, the financial aid plan issued by the US (Marshall plan) after the second world war in order to help 'repair' Europe, came with some restrictions. I know that France was forced to promote American cinema, and thereby many think it was a cause for the diminishing french cinema. However, My question is - I have heard that all countries receiving financial aid were forced to air a certain amount of american media in proportion to the locally produced media. Is this true? It's widely known that the aid was used as a form of political pressure - however, I don't know if that last part is fact.
