It seems that many governments are coming to the realisation that the so called "war on drugs" is not bringing the results that they desired.
Does prohibition work? Would it be better to legalise and regulate drugs? Would legalising drugs make more people use them? Would the money spent on fighting drugs be better spent on treatment for addicts? What if drugs were taxed and that money spent on treatment?
This is a really important issue. Drugs cause a great deal of misery in society. Governments spend huge sums trying to fight them and a large proportion of crime is drug related.
