Summer Night at the Castle

For those of you new to Vienna, this a hugely popular open-air concert by the Vienna Philharmonic on the grounds of Schönbrunn Palace.
For the first time, this year's concert will be conducted by Maestro Tugan Sokhiev and features as vocal soloist the opera singer Piotr Beczała, who will perform three arias – from Georges Bizet's Carmen, Giacomo Puccini's Turandot and Emmerich Kálmán's operetta Gräfin Mariza.
Finally, the Vienna Boys Choir will participate in the Summer Night Concert for the very first time.
The concept of presenting classical music to the widest possible audience as a gift to music enthusiasts everywhere has characterized this event since its inception.
The focus of this year's program is on well-known melodies from opera and operetta that leads on a musical journey through various European landscapes und milieus. This year, it features Otto Nicolai's Ouverture to the Opera "The Merry Wives of Windsor" for the 25th anniversary of Vienna's Haus der Musik.
Looking forward to seeing you at one of Vienna's finest cultural event.
