SPANISH ZARZUELA EL BARBERILLO DE LAVAPIÉS
The protagonist is Lamparilla, a shrewd, quick-witted barber who is always getting into trouble; together with the young seamstress Paloma, he becomes entangled in a scheme to help the Duke and Duchess of Medina de Rioseco, who are victims of a political conspiracy. Amidst gossip, songs, and mix-ups, the common people find themselves drawn into courtly intrigues, demonstrating that wit and solidarity can triumph over rigid authority.
