Cultural & Religious Celebration: Buddha's Birthday (Apr)
Siddhartha Gautama, known as the Buddha (“the awakened one”), was a spiritual teacher in ancient India who founded Buddhism. Born into a royal family in present-day Nepal, he gave up his privileged life to seek enlightenment through asceticism and meditation. He attained nirvana in Bodh Gaya, then spent the rest of his life teaching and establishing a monastic community.
We celebrate Buddha's birthplace: Nepal.
