Who would You Be without Your Story? - workshop
Dear PDG member,
You are invited to join our next workshop where we will use the Work Of Byron Katie® to identify and question stressful thoughts that may cause us to feel stuck and transform our experience. The session will be led by Sagar Simon, certified facilitator of “The Work”.
The two hour workshop will be followed by socializing and networking among the participants.
Who would you be without your story?
Understanding, using and experiencing the Work of Byron Katie
Stories. We all have them: “My father was always critical and I was never good enough to please him.” “My mother was jealous and competed with me.” “My father is an alcoholic.” “My children don’t respect me.” “My ex is a jerk.” “I’m too fat.” “I am a bad mother.” “I’m not living up to my potential.” “My boss is a dictator.”
We have countless stories, opinions and thoughts about our families, our friends and colleagues, and most importantly, about ourselves. And the vast majority of these stories seem to be negative: we are victims; we hate our bodies; we resent our loved ones when they don’t do what we want them to.
We carry our baggage around everywhere we go: resentments, fears, regrets, anxieties, old wounds, losses, and regrets, as well as new worries of potential harms and hurts. Our stressful thoughts are too many to list them all.
Who would you be if you didn't have these or similar often limiting and negative thoughts?
Using the Work Of Byron Katie®, we will experience, the simple and power tool to free ourselves from the burden of these thoughts and beliefs. The Work's whole point is: The usual ways we think about things don’t work very well, so let’s find a new way to think — a way that leads us to the truth of our lives.
Using the The Work:
Is, a simple yet powerful process of inquiry, that consists of four questions and turnarounds. Doing the work has the possibility to transform your life into peace, clarity of action, and to live and work more intelligently and effectively, with integrity and stress-free.
To get the most out of this this process you only need to come with an open mind. Doing the work is more like Meditation. It is a turning inward for your answers.
“I discovered that when I believed my thoughts, I suffered, but that when I didn't believe them, I didn't suffer, and that this is true for every human being. Freedom is as simple as that. I found that suffering is optional. I found a joy within me that has never disappeared, not for a single moment. That joy is in everyone, always.”
