If you enjoy live theatre, join us for a pleasant 'extended lunch break' at the beautiful heritage Firehall Arts Centre in Vancouver.

After the sold-out 'The Wrong Bashir", Zahida Rahemtulla presents multiple award-winning play, The Frontliners.

'A comedic drama that tackles refugee resettlement. 'Playwright Zahida knows what it’s like finding homes for refugees in a city gripped with sky-high housing prices. She actually did this work in Vancouver back in Protected content , just as the Canadian government was resettling 44,000 Syrian refugees over a 14-month period'.

'Told through the story of three settlement workers stationed at an East Van hotel, tasked with housing Syrian families against an impossible rental market. As the workers pull overtime hours to find homes, they must also navigate a frenzy of journalists, do-gooder groups, bureaucracy, ...angry landlords, ...& the hopes & wishes of families themselves, all of which chaotically, tragically, & comedically intersect with the frontlines'.

Wednesdays are Pay-What-You-Can, & tickets are first-come-first-served, so its best to buy yr ticket as soon as the Box Office opens, 12 noon (play begins at 1 pm).

There is a cozy bar (and sunny patio) where we can chat either before the play, and/or during Intermission, or/and if there is interest, we could even go afterwards to a coffee shop.

p.s. if you are new to Vancouver, make sure you only go along East Cordova St (to avoid the gritty East Hastings/Main section)
