Now here's a highlight for all you rootin' tootin' shootin' InterNationers out there — not wanting to be "all hat and no cattle", it's the Sheriff Festival !

For all you "tenderfoots" out there, here's the lowdown — the Sheriff Festival ("Festival Shérif") is Montreal's celebration of all things Wild West, so dust down your boots and immerse yourself in the culture of the American Southwest.

Get training for your sheriff's star with lasso and line dancing lessons for all you rodeo hopefuls, try your hand at riding the mechanical bull, then kick back to country music performances including DJ sets and a tribute to the queen of country herself, Shania Twain.

On the culinary side there'll be country cuisine galore with smoked meats, ribs, brisket, pulled pork, cajun shrimp, fried chicken, grilled corn and spicy chili around warm inviting barbecues and a variety of Western-inspired food trucks.
