Sail Amsterdam 2025
In Protected content , Amsterdam will celebrate the 750th anniversary of its capital with the 10th edition of SAIL Amsterdam. Ships, crew members, and visitors from around the world will come together to celebrate nautical history and diverse worldviews. It is a celebration for everyone, for the Netherlands Waterland, connecting young and old from all cultures. Step aboard & make a wave!
From 20 to 24 August, Amsterdam will be all about flapping sails, towering masts and creaking gangways for 5 whole days.
More than Protected content , over 2.3 million visitors, dazzling performances by top artists and hundreds of side events will transform Amsterdam into a spectacular sailing celebration. The triple jubilee edition of SAIL (10th edition, 50 years of SAIL, and Amsterdam’s 750th anniversary) promises to be an unforgettable spectacle.
The type of ships present will include:
Tall Ships:
These are traditionally rigged sailing ships, many of which are three-masted or four-masted. Some examples include the B.A.P. Unión, which is one of the largest in the world, and the Shabab Oman II.
Naval Vessels:
These are ships operated by various countries' navies.
Dutch Sailing Heritage:
This category includes a wide range of historic vessels, such as clippers, schooners, and traditional fishing boats.
Other ships:
The event will also feature smaller historic vessels, motor yachts, and steamboats.
