Early Autumn Walk, Between Castles and Monasteries

Dear group,
temperatures are finally in the mild range, ideal for an amazing hill walk in the Siena countryside!
The hiking loop, partly in official paths, partly in gravel roads, develops inside beautiful woods and winds through hills rich with olive groves and vineyards.
We will start from Monastery of Ombrone, which existed as a castle since 11th century and belonged to the important family of Berardenghi, to get to Montalto Castle.
Built before year Protected content , it was theater of the war between Siena and Florence and was destroyed and reconstructed multiple times.
The last highlight of the walk will be Abbadia a Monastero, founded by the Berardenghi family forefather in 867, it is now a farm which produces many good and wine products.

Difficulty level: medium\easy
Duration: day trip, packed mid-day lunch.
Required equipment:
Suitable dressing for the weather forecast, trekking shoes, water 1.5L min.
Carpooling will be attempted to reach the starting point of the hike but seats for everybody cannot be guaranteed.
Therefore, please consider using your own mean of transportation to reach the starting point; I'd be really grateful if you can offer seats to other participants!
